2025 marks the eighth year that Beverage Testing Institute (BevTest) has collaborated with the Garden State Wine Growers Association (GSWGA) to evaluate and score your remarkable wines. We are honored and excited to continue to lend our 40-plus years of sensory analysis experience to amplify and promote New Jersey’s world-class wineries.
BevTest promises to deliver fair, consistent and thoughtful reviews of your wines. We encourage you to reach out and connect with us if you have any questions, are curious about our process, or would like to learn more about how we can help your winery.

There are two entry options that provide different levels of promotional tools and deliverables detailed below. Both options are for the same competition, the New Jersey Governor's Cup.
Option 1 -
Competition-Only Option $75
Includes:

100-point based score (no tasting note, no published review)

Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze winners based on BTI’s Points-to-Medals conversion scale*

Emailed award certificate PDFs for each medal winning wine (Non-winning wines do not receive certificates)

Best of Class and/or Best of Category eligibility, certificates provided for qualifying wines

Winery-focused, confidential constructive criticism and feedback from trade buyers

Full results list with final awards emailed to competition committee person at Garden State Wine Growers at the conclusion of the competition on November 1, 2023
Option 2 -
Full Published Review Option $140
Includes:

Volume Discounts and Payment Terms for Option 1 – only offered per winery.
$140 each for 1-10 wines
$130 each for 11-20 wines
$125 each for 21+ wines
* BevTest’s Points-to-Medals conversion scale:
96-100 - Superlative (Platinum Medal)
90-95 - Exceptional (Gold Medal)
85-89 - Highly Recommended (Silver Medal)
80-84 - Recommended (Bronze Medal)
79/NR - Not Recommended (No Medal)

Please note: To comply with shipping regulations and to avoid a fine, you must include ASR (Adult Signature Required) in the reference field of your airway bill and affix an ASR sticker to the outside of your package.
Once you’ve submitted you’ll be able to view detailed shipping instructions on your account on the online BevTest Client Portal by selecting “shipping” from the top menu options. If shipping internationally, please make sure to follow each step and upload your shipping documents so that our team can view them and make sure they are correct. Best of Show Awards: Governor's Cup for Best Red Vinifera, Governor's Cup for Best White Vinifera, Governor's Cup for Best Dessert Wine
All wines entered must be produced and bottled by licensed New Jersey wineries and have a labeled Appellation of Origin of: New Jersey, a county within NJ, or an approved AVA that lies within NJ.
